STATEMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

  • Huntington Christian School exists to meet the intellectual, spiritual, social, cultural, and physical needs of all the children attending the school.
  • The school will strive for constant improvement in the educational program to achieve optimum development of the learner and to provide a school environment that will best promote the students’ learning to foster their spiritual growth in the Christian faith.
  • The school will provide an efficient and effective school management consistent with proper expenditures of school funds.
  • A close contact will be kept with the parents of the children as well as the officers and members of the church.
  • We will seek and retain credentialed teachers qualified academically, Biblically sound and with a life that reflects a daily walk with the Lord.
  • We will foster in each child a feeling of personal self-worth with an ever-increasing awareness of man’s responsibility to God and to his fellow man.

ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS

The Association of Christian Schools International provides a host of services and benefits for Christian schools.Their legal assistance keeps us from legal red tape and restrictions.As a member school, we benefit from yearly staff conferences, printed materials, testing surveys and in-service training tapes. We participate in the A.C.S.I. sponsored Regional Elementary and Middle School Spelling Bee and Speech Meet.

TEACHER QUALIFICATION

It is the policy of H.C.S. to hire teachers who hold a California State Credential. Some of our teachers hold out-of-state credential equivalents or are in the process of completing their California credential.

BELIEF STATEMENT

Authority of the Bible - We believe that the Bible is the word of God and has the right to command our beliefs and actions. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Trinity - We believe that the God of the Bible is the only true God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Relational God - We believe that God values all people and that He is involved in and cares about our daily lives. Psalm 121

Stewardship - We believe that everything a person owns belongs to God. 1 Timothy 6:17-19

Compassion - We believe that God calls Christians to show compassion to those in need. Psalm 82:3-4

Salvation by Grace - We believe that a person comes into a right relationship with God and is saved by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9

Church - We believe that the church is God’s agency to accomplish His purposes on earth today. Ephesians 4:15-16

Eternity - We believe that there is a heaven and a hell and that Jesus will return to judge the earth and to establish His eternal Kingdom. John 14:1-4

Servanthood - We believe that every believer should use their God-given gifts to serve others. Ephesians 6:7-8
